May Week Open Mic Night

Join the May Week Committee as we host our first ever Open Mic and White Night in conjunction with Inspired Soul.  Authors, poets, soloists, dancers, musicians and any artistic expressionists are welcome to come and give a “piece” of their gift.

Short stories excerpts read from authors Michelle McGill Vargas, Sherida Williams and Crystal O’Brien. They will also have copies of their work for purchase.  Students from the Merrillville Poetry Club will be on hand and the Gary Shakespearean Theatre.

FREE and open to the public (all artists are welcome!)
We are asking for patrons to support the Veterans Cafe by purchasing dinner and appetizers on 5/23/2016 during the event.

May Week is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. that was created in 1920. A week in May is set aside for programs highlighting academic and professional achievements and the events emphasize the importance of higher education in the community, especially for black women.
