MAY WEEK- LOCAL POLITICS & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (TUESDAY) CLICK ON FLYER

May Week is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated that was created at the second national convention at Wilberforce University in 1920. A week in May is set aside for programs highlighting academic and professional achievements to emphasize the importance of higher education in the community, especially for black women.
 
GAC is proud to announce “Local Politics & Community Involvement” in conjunction with the Political Awareness & Involvement Committee. This virtual information session is free and open to the public to discuss ways you can get informed and stay involved with local government. A panel of young local politicians that includes Katrina Alexander, Councilwoman, City of Hammond, Jeremiah King, City of Gary Redevelopment Commission, and Dwayne Rancifer, Councilman At-Large, City of East Chicago. adults and a current college student will field questions from our Zoom audience on ways to get involved in local government and community involvement.
