GAC Red Table Talk
October 31, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 4 women and nearly 1 in 10 men have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV), sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. For this reason and in honor of Domestic Violence month, GAC and the Sexual and Domestic Abuse Committee will be hosting its very first Red Table Talk! With a rise in domestic violence cases spiking across the country due to the pandemic, we are bringing together survivors to share their story along with local subject matter experts to have a frank discussion about how we can do our part in putting an end to domestic violence within our communities.
Please join us on October 31st at 11:00 a.m via Zoom and broadcasted live on FB for this necessary and important discussion that has impacted many families.
This event is open to the public.
The committee asks that you wear purple (or adorn your attire with a purple ribbon) and bring a candle to honor the survivors and victims of domestic violence.
See the attached flyer and help us spread the word for this important event by sharing the event and flyer with your personal networks and social media (FB and IG) platforms.
