When I gave my acceptance speech at the end of the year meeting in 2014, I was thinking, “Now the real work begins!” Our past President, Sheila Baker, had served our Chapter well and had been so gracious to the new leadership team. I worked under her administration and I understand that great responsibility comes with a leadership role.
My vision for Gary Alumnae Chapter is reflected in the four Rs: RECHARGE, RETRAIN, RECLAIM and RETAIN. We are revitalizing our Chapter by bringing programs that will continue to seal the bond of our glorious Sisterhood-RECHARGE! As a Chapter, we have many valuable resources that can be used to train our Sorors on Protocol, Policy and Procedures as well as many other valuable areas –RETRAIN! It is our responsibility to bring back the inactive Soror to her first love which is Delta-RECLAIM! In order for the Rs to work efficiently and effectively in sisterly love, we ALL must continue to warmly welcome and show love toward one another and keep Sorors energized-RETAIN!
I am very excited about our upcoming activities and events which are planned for 2017-2018. Our 1st Vice President, Yvonne Lucas, is thrilled to carry the torch of Reclaiming and Retaining members of GAC. Her committee has begun meeting and the vision, mission, goals and great expectations for our Chapter have been identified. Our 2nd Vice President, Shana Caruthers is committed to ensuring GAC is moving Forward To Progress with proper programming & planning. I am confident that GAC will continue to have extraordinary projects, programs and events.
FORWARD TO PROGRESS is moving the Chapter to NEW HEIGHTS, NEW EXPECTATIONS, and NEW
Please continue to keep me and the leadership team in your prayers as we MOVE FORWARD TO PROGRESS!
